The spirit of friendly competition comes alive on Kindergarten Sports Day. The children participate in a wide range of sports events, cheer on their teammates and learn valuable lessons on sportsmanship. Everyone’s a winner at Kindergarten with children guaranteed to win at least a couple of medals for their efforts.
Pearl School celebrated KG1 Sports Day on 28th November 2019, a sunny winter day. The field was decorated with colourful balloons. The chief guest Mr. C Muhamed Nizar member of the school management arrived at sharp 8 am. He was welcomed by our principal. The sports meet was declared open by our respected chief guest Mr. Nizar. The programme started with a march past and an inaugural drill display by the tiny tots. This was followed by a dance drill by the little ones. Group game passing the ball and collecting the straws attracted much applause. The event which evoked the greatest interest was the sack race by the little ones.
It was an all-day activity. Kids were grouped into colour-coded teams and participated in a variety of individual and team sports events and games. Parents were invited to join the kids throughout the day. The last item for the day was the book balancing race in which the parents participated. The kids were very excited to see their parents’ race. The winners were photographed. The headmistress distributed the prizes to the winners. Sweets were distributed to the students. Light refreshment followed.
Events chosen were fun, safe and easy to participate in successfully. Everybody had fun. Kids learned about the extra enjoyment that competition can bring to a game. Kids build various gross motor skills in preparation for and on the Sports Day itself. Kids experience some feelings of team spirit and the value of supporting and appreciating the skills of all competitors. We also got parents involved in sports day activities.
