“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the citizens of tomorrow and future of the nation.” – Jawaharlal Nehru
Children’s Day is to celebrate “Childhood”. Children are loved by one and all. They win our hearts with their innocent smiles. November 14th is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’. India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, popularly known as Chacha was born on the 14th of November and as he loved children and they loved him; this day is celebrated as children’s day. It is not just a day to let the future generation have its say. It is a day to remember a leader who, in his quiet but determined way laid the foundation to convert a budding nation into a world power. We all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind.
The Children’s day celebrations were focused on the children. The teachers made the day special, as they had many fun-filled activities lined up for them. Each class had made different crafts to mark the celebration. Teachers had a talk about Nehru and the significance of children’s day with their students. Chocolates, cards and stickers were gifted to the children.
It was a wonderful, colourful and expressive day where smiling faces and joyful songs filled the air.
