“The slogan for 2018 World Health Day is “Health for All”.
A special assembly was held on 9th April, 2018 at Thumama Campus by the students of Grade- VI, to celebrate World Health Day.
World Health Organization is the agency of United Nation that started the celebration of World Health Day since 1950 on its founding day 7th April. The day is celebrated with different themes every year. The theme for 2018 is “Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere.”
The assembly started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Students spoke about the importance of the health day and emphasized on good eating habits that include a balanced diet, drinking water, cut down intake of salt and avoid junk food. They also spoke about the importance of vitamins and minerals and its ability to prevent and treat various diseases including heart problems, blood pressure, eyes and skin disorders. A choir was also presented by the students.
Headmistress Jaishree Ma’am addressed the students and spoke about the importance of healthy food. A pledge was taken by the students that “health is real wealth, junk food is injurious to health but home foods are always best”.
The assembly was dispersed after the National Anthem.
